Well, I have lost 1.5 more pounds in the last 11 days. Its something. Its very slow but I am encouraged by anything at this point.
I have noticed something great has happened. I am and always have been a pretty healthy eater. I know what you may be thinking "No way in hell a 300+ pound woman is a healthy eater!" But newsflash: Its true! I love healthy food. My main meals every day consist of fruits, veggies, lean meat, beans, and grains. My real problem was sugar. I craved it and usually gave into the cravings at night time. I wanted chocolate, cookies, ice cream....ect.
Since I have started the Low GI diet my cravings have gone away. I mean completely. I have been watching people eat donuts & cake all week without the urge to eat them at all. Its amazing.
Whenever I'm eating off plan, I always forget how much I really love the taste of healthy stuff. Then once I get back on plan, I realize what I've been missing!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing how much better you feel when you get off the sugar rollercoaster.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the loss!

Can you give a brief synapsis of what the diet your on encourages? Like cutting out HFCS, cutting down carbss..what is it specifically you're doing?
ReplyDeleteWell done with the loss!
It's been a long time since I stopped by and I wanted to say hi! I'm sorry you've been through so much lately but I'm very glad that you are experiencing the best of the worst at least and that you don't have cancer. I think of you often, we miss you on the Nest but I know how hard it can be to hang around crazy happiness, thin folk and uber fertile women sometimes.
ReplyDeleteBe well and keep up the good work. You're making great strides and congrats on getting over the sugar craving!
Did your doctor give you lists of foods, a specific calorie range, or recommend a book to base your diet on or just say - try to eat low gi? I hope that he or she gave you some concrete help since most doctors don't really do that. best of luck!
ReplyDeleteHey....just came across your blog. Looks like we have ALOT in common! =)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to reading more!!
Wow, that is amazing! That's awesome that you have found something that works for you. Keep up the good work and congrats on the loss.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your loss!!!! That's wonderful. It's better to loose slow and keep it off than fast and gain it right back.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the healthy eating and let the sugar go. I am a healthy eater too...but no one believes me except my husband who doesn't understand how I can eat so healthy and still be overweight! He sees what I eat every day. I have been mixing up my food patterns and exercising more and have started to finally loose a little.
I believe you about healthy eating and I believe in you! You can do this.... one pound at a time!
Keep up the good work!
