A blast from the past or a look into the future?

I was looking through some photos with my Mom last week and I came across this one from 1997. It was taken almost exactly ten years ago. (Please disregard the bad outfit) This picture documents the thinnest I have ever been as an adult. It made me happy and sad all at the same time.

I was happy because I was reminded that I was thinner and healthier once so I know it can be done. I actually had a figure!

I was sad because I have let myself get so far away from this. I was about 180 pounds in this picture. The saddest thing of all is that I still thought I was huge. Most of all those this photo was inspirational.

I have blown it up and put it on my fridge. I hope it will remind me to eat healthy. It is my new thinspiration, so I wanted to share it with you all. It may be a blast from the past but I truly feel it is a glimpse into the future as well.

  1. I think we all have a picture like that. I know mine is from 2002!

I've been known to put some pics up on my fridge too from time to time...

Keep your eye on the prize and you'll get there!

  2. Hey, girl! That really is a "glimpse into the future!" That is a great way to look at it! How motivating!

I have a picture of me in a dress when I weighed about 200. I cannot wait until I get down to that again! We can do it... and we WILL do it! We have just about the same amount of weight to lose... and I'm going to be here with you all along the way. :)

  5. Wow! That's an awesome inspiration idea (blowing up.) I have all kinds of those type of pics, I weighed around 140-150 lbs and thought I was HUGE, now if only....

    Good luck to you!

  6. You don't look huge in that picture but I certainly understand the mentality. I did the same thing myself when I was a size 16, I thought I was the biggest cow because all of my friends were size 6. I never paid attention to my bone structure or my measurments or my height, they all factor in. You will get to your healthy you. Keep that picture close and see how beautiful you will be on the outside while knowing how beautiful you are on the inside.

  8. Yeah, I also have *some* pictures like that too. Now, I know to cherish what I have regardless if it isn't perfect - because no matter how much you weigh it could always be worse!

  9. Ah, thinspiration....Mine are from a trip to Italy in 2003...I looked thin and cute and exactly what I want to look like now.

I love your idea of having it out somewhere where you can see it every day...and I ESPECIALLY love that you're viewing it as a sneak peek into the future.

    Keep rocking girl!

  12. I'm currently at about 210. I have pictures of me at 180 lbs and I look at them and am jealous of my former self, even though, just like you, when I was 180 I thought I was too fat then.

I also wanted to comment about your "the miracle of water" post... Mentally I KNOW water does wonders but it's so hard to make myself drink it sometimes. I don't drink much of anything during the day anyway, let alone water. But you're right, it DOES help curb hungry and cravings.
