Meet our new baby!

She's finally here, our new baby. I know she is just a machine but I feel we should name her. How about Moxie. Moxie and I will be spending tons of time together. My first work out session is tonight and I am so excited about it. I felt like wrapping her up with a red ribbon and cutting it with a giant pair of scissors while on lookers cheered. I wanted to break a bottle on champagne on her to wish us luck on her maiden voyage. But, instead I am going to jump on tonight and pedal into the night for at least an hour. This is a tool that I have wanted and need for a while. Moxie and I are going to be a winning team.

  4. Congrats on the new addition. Try not to do too much too soon and burn out. You may want to work up to that hour. I hope this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship with you and Moxie.

  5. Precor is very nice, Moxie should last you a long time.

I am curious, did you look into lower cost lines like Schwin? That's the route I am going to have to take but I've never actually seen one in person so not sure if the quality is there.

  6. Very nice! Which model is that? I'm in the market for one when I finally get my own place and I'm afraid of ending up with one that's as flimsy and pathetic as the one they have in my workplace "gym"

  9. YAY! I am so jealous. I would love to have a piece of cardio equiptment in my house. Just a note of warning, make sure you loosen your shoe laces as much as you can before you step on. It will help with the numbness and burning sensation as you work away!

  10. To Fat Girl: It is a Precor Model: EFX5.17i which was the cheapest model they had. I also workout some great discounts.

To John from Fit to Fat: I looked at many many ellipticals but not Schwin. They only other brand I would have considered was Life Fitness. (Those were about 800 bucks cheaper than the precor) But all the other ones I tried while they were much more affordable they seemed rickety and the motion was not as comfortable. As a 360 pound woman I wanted something very sturdy. Also I knew from buying cheap equipment in the past that if it was not comfortable and fun to do I wouldn't do it and it would just sit in the exercise room untouched. So, it was a sacrifice but we went with the precor and I absolutely love. I am on a payment plan with 0% interest and will have it paid off next year. Woo hoo!

  12. How exciting your own elliptical machine!! The week I joined WW a year ago, I started at the gym at work as well - the elliptical machine was 1 of my choices to work out on. I was only able to do 2 minutes on that machine - fast forward a year later, I can easily do 20 minutes, I chose not to do more, however my intensity has increased beyong belief and it takes a lot more to make me sweat now, I think it is a fabulous piece of equipment for builiding up your cardio and burning fat!! I use it 3 times a week! That is my committment - I have never wanted to live my life in the gym - I try to get out walking a few times a week as well, so far it's been working great, I have lost over 100 lbs!!

    Enjoy your new machine!!
