Commitments and Couches

My first two days back on track have been surprisingly great. I feel better when I am eating healthy foods. (Why do I ever stop???) I am drinking more water, and have re-hydrated. I am back to taking my supplements. I feel like I am back in control. I love knowing what I am going to eat next instead of wondering which emotional craving I will give into next. It is empowering. I don't think they have wi-fi in the hotel we will be in the rest of the week, so you may not hear from me until next week.

Upsetting side note: I was asked by my father today not to sit on their new couch because he thought I would break it seeing as it was not made for someone like me. OUCH!

I wasn't even gonna write about it but I am all about being authentic and sharing the true life of a fat girl. There you go folks!

  1. OH MY GOSH! A COUCH? Sorry about the all caps but OMG how awful and inconsiderate! I am so sorry, I wish parents would be more considerate. We've all had moments like that, I pride myself on trying to forget them as fast as possible so they stop stinging so bad!

  3. I'm refraining from saying what I'd like to say about your fathers comment.....grrrrr.......

it SO reminds me of something my father would have said. He's dead now but the hurt remains in my heart.

I'm sorry your father felt the need to say that to you. I don't get people sometimes.....

Glad you're on track - it does feel good, doesn't it?

  4. *sigh* Stay strong. Lose that weight and next time your dad is at your house, don't let him sit on your couch. Tell him it's not made for people like him....

I'm sorry about what your dad said to you. That's awful, but I do appreciate you being authentic. It's freeing to be honest, even when it hurts.

  7. I'm so glad to see you decided not to delete the blog, to see that you got back in control and are happy with that, even if it's only two days into it.
Hey we all have to get back on the wagon at some point.

  9. I am certainly not trying to uphold anyone so insensitive- do you think he was trying to "shame" you into weight loss? That never works. Parents are suppose to be in your corner, regardless. You are a beautiful girl, regardless of your size and your life will be what you make it-no matter the weight. I have struggled all my 54 years, but I have never let it take my eyes off the beauty of life and the joy we can receive each day. I enjoy reading your blog.

  10. I've always had a problem getting enough water. I eventually resorted to just carrying a water bottle where ever I went. It did speed up my loss.
